Having Left The Kiwi Farms: Addendum

Since I decided to leave there for good, I want to tie up a few loose ends here and now that my last post did not address. 1. Just because I left in disgust over how shabbily I was regarded by gutter trash who made it clear they would continue to harass me with no provocation, that does not mean I'm suddenly going to switch sides and join the legions of angry morons trying to take the place down, nor am I going to be a bitter ex-member who curses it as evil incarnate since I was spurned (or rather self-expelled) from paradise. Hopefully, this just means I can close the book on this part of my life. I know nothing about the place, so I'm not in possession on any dirt about anyone there, I'm not going to start a crusade against them, mostly because I've been trying to get away from drama, cutting myself off from there can only help in that regard, and while there are some people there I have had the intense displeasure of crossing paths with, I just want to ignore the...

The Minneapolis Riots: We could have avoided this.

Maybe I'm just horribly optimistic, but I was hoping humanity was smarter than the psychos burning things and looting what isn't nailed down right now. Fine, I get it, they are mad a black guy was killed by cops who stepped over the line. It's understandable to be mad about that. However, the cops can be punished, the family compensated, and the authorities issue an apology for their servants doing something so heinous. At least, that's how things would work in a sane world. Since we live in clown world, there are lunatics (quite a few of them WHITE, I might add) being lawless thugs and attacking anything and everything. Worse, they have the usual Hollywood smoothbrains trying to virtue signal by supplying bail money to these criminals, and even some lunatic political types (Democrats, of course) are white knighting for these miserable brigands. This is insane. We are still reeling from a global plague. The economy is slumped. These things cannot be fixed by a...

9chan and the scum trying to destroy it

Recently, Joshua "Null" Moon, he of "Kiwi Farms" fame/infamy, decided to launch 9chan, which runs using his own custom designed chan board software. Barely three days after it hits the public internet, and it's already been targeted by the following: 1. Epik, the domain registrar, decided to weasel out of providing Moon service on utterly spurious grounds that basically amounted to "because I want to and I'll seize any cheap excuse to justify screwing you over without notice". This obstacle was overcome, but it's still galling such bad faith has gone unpunished. 2. The usual SJW types have fired up the propaganda machines at Wikipedia and various tabloid rags on the internet conflating 9chan with all the evils possible and trying to shame anyone possible into getting it choked off the internet. The owner of Epik fell for this because Wikipedia published such blatant attack articles on him Joseph Goebbels would blink in amazement at and th...

The Sad Story of Saul: Or Why One Should Not Let Evil Destroy You

Few stories in the Bible are more tragic than the story of Saul, the first King over all of Israel, but the saddest aspect of his story is that the worst parts of what ended a life that was so filled with potential in such sadness and tragedy were all because Saul allowed himself to be consumed by the evils of fear, paranoia, bitterness, and hatred. He was so consumed by all these things he became a wretched shell of his former self, dying by committing suicide and nearly destroying the people he was supposed to lead in the process. The Books of Samuel describe Saul's life rather innocently. In fact, when Saul is first introduced, he seemed the most unlikely candidate for being King. Not only is he on a very unassuming quest to hunt down some lost donkeys for his father, when he's anointed by the prophet Samuel and told he will be the one to rule all of Israel, he's basically so in shock it's like he has a hard time believing it, not even telling his dad when he gets...

The BIble on disease prevention for Christians affected by COVID-19

This extended period of social distancing and prevention of public assembly has put the noses of a lot of Christians I know out of joint because quite understandably they want to congregate to worship the Lord. Digital services, discord channels, and via other electronic substitutes just aren't the same. Also, some of my brethren in Christ feel it's an attack on their faith to close places of public worship while other areas of assembly are deemed essential and remain open, with penalties under law for violating these sanctions imposed on the places closed for assembly. While the legal side of this is not perfectly implemented by any means in any country, and while there is understandable resentment over how bars, restaurants, and some other things are considered essential for the public while churches nigh universally are demanded shuttered until this COVID-19 pandemic passes, I do believe generally, contrary to what some Christians may believe, this is NOT an attack on thei...

Some advice for this Coronavirus pandemic

In an earlier post, I was of the opinion this COVID-19 outbreak would sputter out a bit faster than it has, and I was wrong on that. However, I still stand by the contention humanity needs to remain calm and rational no matter what. Yes, it's deadly if you fall into certain risk groups especially. Yes, it's quite communicable, and yes, there is no easily common cure for it yet, these are all facts. However, some things that are still worth keeping in mind. 1. Viral outbreaks have yet to cause the end of humanity. The worst-ever outbreak of plague in the Western world was the Black Death, and that never managed to wipe out all of humanity. The Spanish Flu killed a lot of people, but it was less deadly, and thus far this COVID-19 has proven several orders milder than that. Therefore, there is no sense losing our minds believing the end is nigh. Humanity will survive this unless we all decide to destroy ourselves with our own panic and paranoia. 2. Anyone making life har...

Transgenderism: Some things it's outright objectively wrong about as a social and political movement

From the title alone, I'm quite sure this post will raise some hackles. I also admit upfront that I am a practicing Christian, but I will not be bringing my religious beliefs into this article. In fact, to argue against something on religious grounds is to argue based on a moral opinion, and I'm not doing that because this is a matter objective fact can more than argue against just fine. Now, before I continue, I also want to say I'm an absolute advocate of free will and personal conscience, and it goes both ways. If someone wants to be transgender and has decided of their own free will it's the best choice for them, then so be it, I have no right to complain. However, I reserve the right to regard them as what they are, someone who cosmetically changed their appearance to match a sexual appearance based on another gender, but they still remain the gender they were born as. In fact, here's objective argument number 1: It is unethical to make someone pretend a pe...

Why I don't consider myself an activist anymore

This is something of a reflection article, but since it's content are relevant to my current day activity, one I feel necessary for anyone who has doubts about me. First off, when I say I no longer consider myself an activist, I mean I no longer consider myself an active participant any any political or social drama. I say that not out of cowardice, I will still take a stand on anything I deem to be a firm moral principle, but when it comes to being on the front lines of drama, I prefer to refrain these days. Now, I was on the pro-GamerGate side of that little debate back when it was actually relevant. I don't apologize for it, and I don't regret my involvement. I do admit some of the decisions I made then were unwise to some extent, and perhaps I shouldn't have been so naive in some ways, but what's done is done, all I can do is keep those moments in mind for future reference. I also have taken a step back from drama both on the Internet and real life in gene...

On arguments and tactics used against Christians and what Christians should do about it

If you read the Gospels, one recurring theme that was constantly used against Jesus was his enemies trying to use his own words against, trying to reveal him a traitor to own morals, and otherwise trying to make him the bad guy because they hated what he stood for. In modern day, not much has changed. Even if you are like me and live in a fairly free country to be a Christian, you will encounter much the same scorn and hatred from those who will treat you with contempt for your faith, and here' some of the most common ways this manifests. 1. Trying to use you own morals against you. A common tactic those who hate Christians will use is trying to hold you to your morals and mercilessly trying to make you look like a stupid hypocrite for not living up to them 24/7. This is dishonest for several reasons, here's some quotes from scripture on why that's the case. Romans 3:9-20   English Standard Version (ESV) No One Is Righteous 9  What then? Are we Jews [ a ]...

People taking wiki posting too seriously: A rant post, which I've not done for awhile

I haven't done a post where I rage and moan about something mind-bendingly stupid in awhile, so here goes, brace yourself for me bemoaning galaxy-brained individuals being foolish. Recently, some evidence came out some people were sockpuppeting, and I advised who gave me the information to report it to Wikia Staff. For the crime of doing so, I got comments on this blog (which I have site moderation on to prevent) and my DeviantArt account saying I need to be lynched and got middle finger emojis, all for having the audacity to give some common sense advice to someone. Apparently, just doing my job on Wikia is enough to get people to want to see me swing from a gibbet. Honestly, if that is what I deserve for that, I'd love to know what these insanely butthurt people think should happen when I do something that is actually wrong. I also got another instance where someone I blocked for being a raging jackass contacts me on Reddit to alternate between asking me to unblock ...

My stance on people being nasty

I'm writing this to make perfectly clear, in case there is ambiguity, my stance on how much I can take before I don't want to put up with nastiness. First off, just want to get out there I'm a stolid defender of free speech, and simply being offensive, even to the point of being an asshole, is not a crime, and while I might have to restrain the urge to hit someone for being this to me, I will defend their right to be that way. However, and I'll cover this in more detail as I go on, there is a point when I no longer consider it justified as far as my personal limits go. In real life, civility is a rule in every place that observes civilized behavoir. I expect it, and I expect it to be returned. Common sense, but I admit it annoys me when people act like this isn't true when it otherwise is. Granted, life is not ideal, and I'm not blind to the fact rules alone do not make human nature bow to reason, but in the real world, such incivility usually has social...

Opaque authority and why it is a cancer to any community

I write this article because I want to make clear an issue I have a burning contempt for, and I believe I do so with good reason. Any community that tries to be as opaque about how authority is exercised, meted out, and put into practice. I believe accountability for one's actions is a fundamental good for everyone, and it ensure the parties who are supposed to enforce the rules are not above them, nor can they use the rules as an excuse to vent their own personal beliefs, hatreds, and grudges under the guise of doing their jobs. That is not to say I believe there are not times when such opaque activity is bad. In the case of legal matters, private information, or other matters requiring sensitivity and discretion, then there is a reasonable, ethical basis for not being flagrantly transparent, such does more harm than good. My primary basis for this contempt stems from many web communities I have either been members of or have administrated myself, but I believe, the above ex...

Musings on how to be a good website leader

Recently, I have been been musing what makes a good website leader, especially if you have to enforce order on said website, and based on my own experience and that of others whose moderation I've witnessed, I've come to a few conclusions. 1. Civil behavior is a two-way street: As a site moderator, you are obligated to enforce civility, especially if you want it returned. If you can't yet have rules to be civil, you are making it impossible to be taken seriously. 1a: While enforcing the rules, be civil: Even if a troublemaker is annoying you, keep your temper in check. Even if you are otherwise reasonable, you make it clear that you cannot deliver effective discipline without acting childish, which future troublemakers can exploit to make you angry. You should always present a wall of dispassionate calm in any official capacity. This also applies to reading out the riot act or whatever other rules to those who have doubts or questions. Just because you don;t like ha...
