My favorite and not so favorite Girls Frontline designs
I'm an avid fan of Girls Frontline, and some of the designs for the characters are quite good, want to comment on them here. Some are pretty bad, mostly for reasons of good taste, and I shall mention those below the ones that are actually good.
Lee-Enfield
First off, Lee-Enfield is very BRITISH, as the name and redcoat suggest. Further, I just like how she appears dignified, serious, and overall professional.
She gets some nice alternate outfits, like a hunting frock, and her children's day skin looks hilarious because it's basically a kid version of her struggling to lug around a walnut stocked rifle and all the firing and running animations are pretty hysterical. Her wedding outfit is weird, essentially being a leotard instead of full dress, but she really despises skirts for some reason.
MP-40 (Censored version)
MP-40 is based off, obviously, military uniforms from the Nazi era, though all Nazi emblems are gone and things like the Iron Cross are substituted. I admire the level of detail in the outfit design, not to mention, in-universe, she likes the military regalia because it makes her look professional, which is one way to take cosplay seriously.
She only has one alternate skin, the adorable Thumbelina children's day skin where her uniform is modified to look more like a black dress with red ribbons.
I don't like the uncensored version (nor do I play that version) because the damaged artwork looks rather tacky and exposes too much skin for my liking.
Thompson (Censored version)
SPP-1 (regular outfit): I get the two piece bathing suit look because the SPP-1 was an underwater pistol designed for in-close wetwork, but the character herself looks......malnourished to be charitable. She has an alternate outfit or two that makes her look a lot better (and covers a lot more), but her regular outfit just makes her look like a starving waif.

Thompson (Censored version)
Thompson is one of my personal favorites, and to be honest, I really like the busty tomboy look. Her outfit is obviously meant to call back to the Prohibition era, where the Thompson SMG was frequently associated with mob hits (even though most of the time the mob preferred the BAR).
She has an alternate outfit that looks like some anime take on something from Devil May Cry that is pretty good too. I again stick with the censored version because her damaged uncensored outfit looks tacky.
Springfield
Springfield's artwork emphasizes two things. One, she has a motherly personality and her artwork reflects these qualities, and her outfit is based on the Union uniform used during the American Civil War. She has a lot of alternate outfits, all of which are very classy and still manages to reflect her motherly persona.
Pzb 39
Pzb 39 is based off the Nazi Germany answer to the PTRD, and her character art is designed to give her a regally dressed look that also emphasizes her height (which is even taller than her already long anti-tank rifle. She has a nice "fashionista" flair to her design, making her sexy yet not slutty too.
She also has a "badass biker babe" outfit where she gets a 1940's German motorcycle and a matching, somewhat mannish motorcyling outfit.
And now, to cover some of the "ok, what were they thinking outfits". Not including images because they are generally tacky and lewd.
G41: Even her default censored outfit is "what kind of pervert designed this?" She looks like a kid with dog ears and cat tail in her underwear, and apparently the artist is an admitted lolicon. HARD PASS ON THAT. As an ingame unit she's actually supposed to be good, but I have standards and good taste, not getting near this.
Besides, if the ladies I included images for are any indication, I prefer women who look like I won't get arrested who are obviously over the age of consent in appearance, not to mention have fairly noticeable bust lines.
PTRD (uncensored): Look, I get fanservice because sex sells, but her uncensored outfit is some super short racy top with her underboobs hanging out. Given the rest of her outfit is supposed to call in mind a Russian officer uniform, that just looks more stupid than sexy. Her censored outfit is much better, giving her a full uniform coat (albeit form-fitting) that looks both classy and sexy.
SPP-1 (regular outfit): I get the two piece bathing suit look because the SPP-1 was an underwater pistol designed for in-close wetwork, but the character herself looks......malnourished to be charitable.
